Edith De La Cruz is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Antigua Construction, a Latina- and woman-owned construction firm serving public and private sector clients throughout the Chicagoland area since 2005. A Guatemalan immigrant and now a proud U.S. citizen, Edith began her career flipping residential homes, where she discovered her natural talent for contracting and hands-on leadership—often working alongside her crews, a practice she continues today.
After early success with Neighborhood Housing Services and subcontracting on corporate and government projects, Edith made the bold decision to become a General Contractor, allowing Antigua to bid directly with owners and take full control of its growth. Her leadership is rooted in integrity, resilience, and quality craftsmanship.
A passionate advocate for women and minorities in construction, Edith has served on numerous diversity panels and was appointed in 2020 by Mayor Lori Lightfoot to the City of Chicago’s MBE/WBE Advisory Board. She is also an active member of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
